Notes
a. Note:   RESEARCH STANDARD APPLIED
Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated December 5, 2020
Stanisław Mazur and Julianna Wierzba are my maternal second great grandparents. Stanisław and Julianna were initially identified by the research of Daniel James.
Based on the application of recognized genealogical standards of proof, the descent of Stanisław Mazur, the descent of Julianna Wierzba, and their family structure have been sufficiently established beyond any reasonable doubt. The basis for the descent of Stanisław begins with being named in the obituary of his sister Agnes, which identifies multiple surviving siblings. The death record of his sister Michalina identifies their parents as Joseph Mazur and Magdalena Janasek. The basis for the descent of Julianna begins with her birth record, which lists the names of both parents. The basis for the family structure begins with the census records. This has been subsequently supported with the additional interlocking records and documentation listed further below.
From a research perspective, the potential for spelling variations of Polish names need to be recognized, which can result from the effects of language, gender, and grammar. Stanisław is a Polish name, and Stanislaus is a German variation, Stanley is an English variation. The marriage record lists him as Wenzel, and it is unclear if this is a forename or middle name. Wenzel and Wenzeslaus are German names, and Wacław and Więcesław are Polish variations.
  1849 BIRTH OF STANISŁAW MAZUR
Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated December 5, 2020
Stanisław Mazur was born circa 1849 in Poznan, Wielkopolskie, Poland. The 1849 birth year is assumed from what is listed on the headstone. The marriage record implies an approximate birth year of 1851, the census records twice imply 1849 and another implies 1853, and the death record indicates 1853.
