Notes
a. Note:   RESEARCH STANDARD APPLIED
Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated November 26, 2020
Magdalena Mazur is my maternal second great aunt, which is via common ancestry with Stanley Mazur. Magdalena was initially identified by Daniel James.
Based on the application of recognized genealogical standards of proof, the descent of Magdalena Mazur is sufficiently established beyond any reasonable doubt. The basis begins with the obituary, which lists the names of both parents and her siblings. This has been subsequently supported with the additional interlocking records and documentation listed further below.
  1876 BIRTH OF MAGDALENA MAZUR
Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated November 26, 2020
Magdalena Mazur was born circa July 1876, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA.
  1876 BAPTISM OF MAGDALENA MAZUR
Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated November 26, 2020
Magdalena Mazur was baptized on Tuesday, July 4, 1876, at St. Stanislaus Kosta Catholic Church in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA.
According to the research of Daniel James, the source was Baptism Register 1869-1881, LDS Film 1577959. Daniel indicated that she was baptized on July 4, 1876, which conflicts with her probable birth date, as determined above. It is possible that the July 4, 1876 date is correct, and that the month and days listed on her death record were in error.
  1894 DEATH OF MAGDALENA MAZUR
Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated November 26, 2020
Magdalena Mazur died at the age of 18, on Monday, November 12, 1894, at home at 17 Fry Street in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA. Magdalena Mazur was buried on Wednesday, November 14, 1894. There is a discrepancy with her age, as the obituary indicates that she was 18 years old, while the death record indicates her age as 19 years, 4 months, and 2 days. The death record also incorrectly indicates that she was born in Poland, as her parents were married in Chicago on October 10, 1875. The death record also indicates that she was resident of Chicago for 18 years, so it was concluded that the age of 19 years was in error.
The following appeared in the Dziennik Chicagoski, a Polish language newspaper, from Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA, on Tuesday, November 13, 1894, and the following is a loose translation: “I bring my relatives and friends this sad news that our daughter Magdalena, at the age of 18, said goodbye to this world, bearing the sacraments on November 12 at 1:15 pm, the funeral will take place from the parents' house on 17 Fry Street, to the church of St. John Cantius, on Wednesday the 14th at 8 am. Grieved Parents: Julianna and Stanlslaw Mazur; Sisters: Anastazya, Łucya; Brothers: Michał, Maxymilian, Jan, Klemens."
