Note: RESEARCH STANDARD APPLIED Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated June 12, 2021 Benjamin R. Hollon is my maternal second great uncle, which is via common ancestry with James Buchanan Hollon and Isabellah Caroline Elkins. Benjamin was initially identified in the book "Genealogy of Hollon and Related Families: Early Settlers of Eastern Kentucky and their Descendants,” which was written by Clay Hollon, and was published in 1958. Based on the application of recognized genealogical standards of proof, the descent of Benjamin R. Hollon has not been sufficiently established beyond any reasonable doubt. The only source information is the book listed below. At the same time, it could be argued that as Clay Hollon was the brother of Benjamin, that this is first hand evidence. 1876 BIRTH OF BENJAMIN R. HOLLON Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated June 12, 2021 Benjamin R. Hollon was born circa 1876 in Wolfe County, Kentucky, USA. The source of this information is the book below. 1877 DEATH OF BENJAMIN R. HOLLON Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated June 12, 2021 Benjamin R. Hollon died circa 1877 in Wolfe County, Kentucky, USA. As Benjamin is not listed with his parents on the 1880 census, the assumption is that he died at birth or very young. 1958 BOOK MENTION OF BENJAMIN R. HOLLON Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated June 12, 2021 The book "Genealogy of Hollon and Related Families: Early Settlers of Eastern Kentucky and their Descendants,” which was written by Clay Hollon, and was published in 1958. Page 31 lists Benjamin R. Hollon as a son of James Buchanan Hollon and Caroline Elkins, and that he was born in 1876. It should be noted that Clay was the brother of Benjamin.
